BELL THE CAT

Once upon a time a grocery store was infested with mice who spoilt the fruits, vegetables, and other goods kept over there. Then one day the grocer decided to end the problem and bought a cat.

The cat pounced upon the mice and ate them with great relish. After a few days, the King mouse called an emergency meeting to discuss about the cat.

“Friends, we face a serious threat. The cat is eating a dozen of our brothers and sisters regularly. We need to think of a solution as soon as possible,”said the king mouse.

Suddenly a baby mouse raised up his hand and asked for the permission to speak. The king mouse called him upon the dias and allowed him to keep his opinion.

“If we can tie a bell to the cat’s neck, then we can always know the exact location of the cat. This way we will be able to runaway and hide before the cat catches any of us,”said the baby mouse and everyone began clapping and blowing whistles.

Suddenly a mouse raised his hand and asked a counter question “what you suggest sounds good but who would bell the cat?”.

Everyone began looking at each others face but no one had the courage to do so.

Thus at last the mice left the grocery store and never returned.
